Synopsis

This novel is also referred to as Heaven Defying Sword. Xuan Tian originates from a formidable clan, but he has adopted his mother’s surname, now being known as Huang Tian. This change occurred because he, along with his parents and maternal relatives, had to escape when he was still quite young. His father's brother conspired against his father, which led to the Xuan family pursuing them relentlessly. The members of the Huang family suffered numerous injuries, with many losing their lives. He narrowly escaped death himself, thanks to his grandfather, who took the final hit on his behalf. His grandfather, once a formidable warrior, is now disabled. The fighting capabilities of all remaining family members diminished due to their injuries. Xuan Tian's own cultivation is now hampered because of the wounds he sustained as a child. Nevertheless, he joined a sword school and dedicated himself to gaining sufficient strength for revenge and to heal his family. This endeavor seemed futile as his cultivation progressed agonizingly slow. That was until he accidentally fell into a pond, where a sword spirit entered his body, healing his injuries.
